Kids and adults ran to help bring local children needed school supplies. From the starting line inside Sims Legion Park in Gastonia, More than 100 racers took off at the Back to School 5K Splash Dash. The timed course lead them from the stadium, running along the Norfolk Southern rail trail, crossing Marietta Street, and culminated back across home plate at the stadium. Squirt cannons slightly hampered their progress but certainly heightened the excitement along the trek.Prizes were
